Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format. If you are using LaTeX, PDF and LaTeX files are needed.
  • The text is single-spaced, single-column; uses a 12-point font; and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

MANUSCRIPTS

Language: Manuscripts should be written in English.
Length: Manuscripts should not exceed 20 pages
(including figures, tables, abstract, and references)
File: DOC, DOCX, ODT, PDF (with line numbering)
Font: Times New Roman or Arial
Title of the article: Size 14, alignment center, sentence case, Latin names to be given in italics
Authors: Size 12, alignment center, first letter capital, author for correspondence should be indicated with an asterisk (*)
Affiliation/Address:
Size 12, regular
Corresponding author: Size 12, regular
Heading First order: Size 12, bold, upper case
Second order: Size 12, first letter capital, bold
Margins: Adjusted, top 1 inch, bottom 1 inch, left 1 inch, right 1 inch

Page no.: Times New Roman, size 12, alignment right, bottom of page
Details: Abbreviations and contractions should be kept to a minimum. Such information should be integrated into the text.

MANUSCRIPTS SHOULD BE PRESENTED IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER

Title of article: It should be clear, descriptive and not too long
Name(s) of author(s): If there is more than one author, indicate to whom communications should be sent.
Complete postal address with affiliating Institution and e- mail address.
Abstract: Should be clear, descriptive, completely self-explanatory and not longer than 300 words. (Heading size 12, text size 10 regular)
Keywords normally 3-6 keywords
Introduction: It should be brief and limited to the definition of the problem, the aims and purposes of the research and its relation with other studies in the field. Also the working hypothesis must be clearly stated. (Heading size 12, bold, uppercase)
Materials and Methods: Correct standardized procedures should be described in detail. It should include relevant details on the experimental design and techniques so that the experiments can be repeated. (Heading size 12, bold, uppercase)
Results and Discussion: Results should be clearly presented. Tables and figures should only be included if required to fully understand the data. Discussion is the interpretation of the results and their relation to the existing knowledge. The information given in any part of the text may be cited but not repeated in discussion. (Heading size 12, bold, uppercase)
Illustrations: The figures (photographs, drawings, graphs and schemes) must be numbered with Arabic numerals. If needed a short description is also accepted. They should be numbered in separate sequence and referred as Figure 1 and Plate 1 both in caption and citation.

Tables: Tables must be numbered with Arabic numerals in the order in which they are cited in the text. They should have a brief descriptive title placed at the top. A short description is also accepted. Footnotes can be included below the table. Tables cannot duplicate data contained in the text. Tables must be sent in Microsoft Word and have no links to the main document or other archives. These should be numbered and presented in text, e.g. Table 1.

Acknowledgements: Kindly be brief in acknowledgements. The acknowledgment of the contributions of colleagues can be stated in this section. Acknowledgment for financial support must be cited on the corresponding section. (Heading size 12)

References: Authenticity of the references is the responsibility of author(s). The full title of the paper must be mentioned together with the first page. List only references that are refereed to in the text. Book titles should be followed by the place of publication and the publisher. (Heading size 12)

To use this style, Open Mendeley >> View >> Citation Style>> More Styles >> Get More Styles >> Download Styles. Then input https://csl.mendeley.com/styles/24360161/KUSET. Then press the Download button. Now you can use the KUSET citation style.

In the text: References should be cited in the text by consecutive number of their occurrence; the numbers are shown in the big bracket [ ] at the end of statement related to that particular reference and the list should be in the order of citation.

Example: Lapsi has great potential as a cash generating tree for hill farming communities in Nepal [1, 2] thus, reducing farmers reliance on subsistence food production and to improve their welfare [3].

In the reference section:  Following the same sequence of the text, the list of references is appended under the References heading. Each reference should provide names and initials of all the authors giving coma in between the authors and & before the last author. They must be presented according to the following examples:

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPT

  1. Submission of an article for publication implies that the article is original unpublished and not considered for publication elsewhere.
  2. The author may suggest reviewers for their manuscript but the editorial board reserves the right to opt reviewer other than, on in addition to, those suggested.
  3. The manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter describing the following:
    i)   title of the paper
    ii)  full name of author(s)
    iii)  complete postal address and e- mail address of corresponding author
    iv)  category of the submitted article
    v)   name of three potential reviewers (if possible) with e- mail addresses and full postal addresses

It is mandatory on the part of the corresponding author to furnish certificate at the time of submission of the manuscript for publication.
